Last Friday we headed on over to visit our client: Te Whare Whai Hua Childcare Centre. Prior to this we contacted them early to share the idea of having the kids colour in a simple submarine so that we get an idea what colours the kids may like on their sub. It was also important to talk to Kelly (Supervisor of TWWH) about the project and have her input prioritised over our ideas because she knows what works best for the kids. From our discussion we've acknowledged how features that encourage exploration and thinking are very important for the kids. With that in mind generic features like slides won't work with our project. We're looking at adding PVC pipes that run through the submarine where kids can add water to it, emphasising exploration. Meeting the kids and interacting with them, talking with them about the project was a great experience and one we won't forget. We can't wait to show these kids what they've coloured on paper has turned into a 3D playhouse.
Te Whare Whai Hua have given permission for us to publicise the kids that are present in our vlog/blog.
