Last week we brought out the paint and brushes. The submarine was prepared with one coat of Osmose Protim FramSaver Timber Preservative. This ensures that our material doesn't rot or undergo damage due to insects in the long term. Drying only took up roughly an hour where we then applied two undercoats to the structure. Herby Babara, professional painter, came to visit but we were busy with classes at the time. Instead he just left us with written suggestions and passed on information to Macca about painting techniques with the brushes and rollers. Herby also suggested that we do two undercoats and two top coats of slim gloss. Thank you Herby for your input! With the color palette provided by Dulux we chose Norsewood for inside of the submarine and Waipawa for the outside. Looking at the submarine with the two colors applied was a great decision made by the team.
