Krystal put a post on the offical ngaruawahia high facebook page to see if anyone had any old fence battens or post to donate for our sound shell.
A farmer got in touch with our teacher, they said they were happy to donate rolls of old boundary fence they had pulled out and asked if we would like it. When we got it there were staples in it and so we had to take them out. We put through the thicknesser machine, we discovered that many of the battens are Rimu. We are using them for struts for the sound shell.
These two photos are of Tirua taking the staples out.
This is Jermaine cutting the struts.
