BCITO Buildability

We chose our team with the help of our teacher Mr. Kingi. Our team is composed of 6 Year 13 students, who are Tyrell Hillman, Travis Burrow, Calumn Ridley, Jacob Paltridge, Jamie Cranshaw, and  Kent Cruz. The names are order of the student in the group photo.

This week we started to organised what materials we needed to order and at what sizes. We first needed to figure out how much of each material we would need. We did this by going through the parts of the house, getting the sizes for each part(e.g.frame) and recording how many of that sized material me need. If it was the same type of timber( and if it was h3 for example) we added it to the total length needed. After all the sizes for materials were sorted and we knew how much we needed, we rang the suppliers and ordered the materials.

We organized ourselves and gave each other jobs/tasks to do throughout the building challenge(we organised or plan of attack). These were things like getting 2-3 people to work of frames, while 2-3 other people work on weatherboards. This would allow for great time efficiency. Also no one will stand around doing nothing and everybody will have something to do, creating true teamwork and productivity.
